Meet Claude Code
Still in the taskflow directory, start Claude Code:
1
claudeOn first launch, Claude Code walks you through a few setup prompts — a theme/color picker and a "trust this folder" prompt. Press Enter to accept the defaults for each one. You can change the theme later with /config if you want.
After the setup prompts, you should see a welcome message and a prompt waiting for your input.
Run the model command to see which AI model you are using:
/modelYou will see a list of available models. For this workshop, one has been pre-selected for you. Press Esc to continue.
Let's verify everything is working:
What files are in this directory? Give me a quick overview of this project.Claude will explore the project structure and explain what it finds. Notice how it does not just dump a file listing — it understands what it is looking at and offers context about the project.
You have:
- Set up a real project — TaskFlow, the app you will build on for every workshop
- Started Claude Code — It automatically detected you are in a code project
- Had your first AI conversation — Inside the actual codebase, not a chat window
This is the workflow. You are in your terminal, in your project, with an AI that can see everything you can see.
